Since its foundation in 1990 in Ramallah, the Caritas Elderly Day Care Center has become one of the most important social services for the elderly in the area.
The Center is caring for 65 isolated senior citizens living under the poverty level.Regardless of their religious affiliation, the Center is offering its help to all elderly to enjoy their lives as they grow older. It offers a place to meet, socialize and enjoy various events and activities the center carries out all over the year thanks to local volunteers.
The Center also monitors closely the health of its members. The staff is organising regular medical check-ups at the Center to screen eyesight, diabetes and blood pressure levels. It also provides domestic help and medical visits to homebound elderly.

Caritas Jerusalem initiated a project aimed at bringing together the youth in Ramallah, with the purpose of visiting the elderly members of the community and providing them with the much-needed emotional support and reassurance that they are not alone, and that they have the unwavering support of Caritas.
Caritas fulfilled their needs by providing them with an artificial foot installation, sustenance, emotional support, and various other necessities.
